West-Trans Equipment commenced operations in 1988 in Mulgrave NSW, on the north western outskirts of Sydney. Back then it was a small engineering shop employing 10 people building customer tipper bodies, truck trays and skip loaders.
In 1994 Jim Whittle and his father bought the business, and started the transformation into Australia’s leading skip loader and hook lift manufacturing business, and in 2009 it became the home of HMF vehicle loading cranes in Australia.
Through constantly listening to its customers, and understanding the unique requirements of the Australian market, Jim set about designing a range of skip loaders that combined tough simple engineering, with built in durability, and clever geometry, providing compact, low fold height machines that have proven tough over 25 years of operation.
West-Trans Equipment now employs more than 70 people in 5 locations Australia wide, and through its service partners, provides technical and service support in every state and territory. With sales and service expertise Nationally, there is always someone local that you can talk to about your unique requirements.
